Nah, they were gunshots alright. At least the ones I heard.

If you wanna shoot someone, the evening of July 4 is your Christmas.

Yeah, not in Baghdad any more. I don’t need to debate running for a bunker or hiding under my bed.
However, I will totally turn some music on and try to sleep....(Note: didn’t work the best).

Me, yesterday:
You are in Texas. Those are fireworks AND gunshots.
Hehe. J/k. There weren’t any gunshots *this* year, AFAIK.

Silly Xylo. The gunshots are earlier in the evening when you can still see - shooting in the dark is just not as fun.

Me too. I moved from the ghetto to the edge of the country where on a quiet night you can hear rednecks with semi-autos shooting at God knows what.

Both for me. I live close enough to an outdoor shooting range I regularly hear gunshots, and it was a popular place yesterday afternoon and early evening.
Now when I lived in Chicago, that was a different story... I would often tell my mom “oh that was a ... car backfire...” Or “people bring back fireworks from across the border in WI a lot...” If she ever called and heard something in the background.

Having grown up in the Caribbean, same story for me

Tin cans. Soda cans. Targets. Cans with targets. Targets with tin cans. Milk jugs. Milk jugs, cans, and targets. The classics, really.

Probably some four legged classics as well.
